TRAVELERS AID IS VALUABLE RESOURCE DURING ELEVATED TRAVEL ALERT
26 PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT U.S. CAN HELP AIRPORT TRAVELERS
Washington DC — Travelers Aid reminds all travelers, since the United States has gone to a “ Red” security alert for commercial flights originating in the United Kingdom bound for the United States and “ Orange” alert for all other in-bound international flights and all flights within the U.S., that volunteers at Travelers Aid programs and affiliates at 26 airport locations are available to address questions and concerns of travelers, as well as their friends and family who are meeting them.
Travelers Aid urges all travelers to be alert to the new security check-in regulations and to allow plenty of time before their flights. They should check www.travelersaid.org to review the new Transportation Security Administration carry-on luggage rules and for links to airport Web sites for breaking news. They can also contact individual Travelers Aid airport locations directly for advance planning.
“Mobility is critical to our liberty,” commented Ray Flynt, president of Travelers Aid International, the association that represents Travelers Aid programs in the U.S. Canada and Australia . “People should not alter their travel plans, but it is important to be security conscious and plan ahead in order to make the airport check-in experience as smooth as possible,” Flynt urged.
