San Diego Tables the Wine
And Tries Golf as a Fundraiser

San Diego - Travelers Aid Society of San Diego introduced a new fundraiser on Feb. 23, a golf tournament, which replaced the annual wine tasting and auction. The group staged the wine tasting for the last 12 years. The Travelers Aid Centennial Golf Classic attracted 72 golfers. The group reports it was not a "huge money-maker," but successful enough to do it again next year. The event included a putting demonstration, a box lunch, drinks, dinner and a silent auction. San Diego turned to Dallas-Fort Worth Travelers Aid for advice in setting up the event. Learn More.
