How can I travel between the terminals?
The AirTrain is a fast and easy method at Newark Liberty International Airport. It makes frequent stops around the airport including terminals (A, B, C), rail link (NJ Transit and Amtrak), hotel shuttle/valet parking area (P4) and rental car facilities (P2 and P3). You can also walk between Terminal A,B and C from Level 2 of each terminal. The walk will take 7-16 minutes.
What is the best way to travel to Manhattan from EWR?
The following options may help you decide which way is best for you:
- Take the AirTrain to Rail Link station and connect with NJ Transit toward New York Penn Station. It’s less than 30 minutes to New York Penn Station.
- Take Newark Airport Express Bus just outside each terminal. The bus runs every 15 to 20 minutes during peak hours. It makes three stops in NYC. First stop is Port Authority, second stop is Bryant Park, and the third stop is Grand Central. You may purchase ticket with bus driver or at the Welcome Center with a Coach USA representative.
- Shared Ride Service arrangements can be made with any Customer Care representative in the Port Authority’s Welcome Centers located in each Terminal.

What is the Value-Added Tax policy at EWR?
There is currently no federal value-added tax (VAT) on goods or services in the United States. Instead, a sales and use tax is common in most U.S. states.
Neither EWR Airport nor New Jersey state provide sales tax refunds. The state of Texas and some areas within Louisiana are the only U.S. locations that provide tax refunds to international shoppers.
What is the AirTrain?
Passengers can easily move around the airport by using the AirTrain, a free monorail that connects to all Terminals (A, B, C), as well as to; Car Rental facilities (P2, P3), Hotel Courtesy Vans (P4), and to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains (Rail Link).
Where are the Welcome Centers?
Welcome Centers are located in the Arrival Areas of each terminal. Representatives from Ground Transportation, Travelers Aid, and Newark Airport Express Bus service are available at the Welcome Centers to provide passengers with information. Travelers Aid counters at each Welcome Center also have a courtesy phone and computer.

Passengers requiring wheelchair or other mobility assistance should refer to their airlines for assistance.
