Volunteers are at the heart of Travelers Aid’s work at airports and bus and train stations. Last year, nearly 2,100 Travelers Aid volunteers assisted more than 9 million people at our 24 transportation centers on two continents.
Several of our social service agencies use volunteers to supplement their professional administrative staff and on the frontlines, performing duties such as serving meals. An additional 150 volunteers helped at these agencies.
The “job” is rewarding and always interesting. Our volunteers, who enjoy traveling themselves and come from diverse backgrounds, find that providing “A Helping Hand Along the Way” is a great way to give back.
