The Governor is Wrong, Ring Tells The Globe
In a Letter to the Editor in The Boston Globe, Richard E. Ring, president of FamilyAid Boston, criticized a proposal by Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker to cut homeless families emergency shelter and essential social services. “Without shelter as a safety net while they work to obtain housing, more than 5,000 displaced men, women, and children would be placed at risk. Such a move, when the state’s Department of Children and Families is overwhelmed with its current caseload, clearly is an ill-conceived plan that the Legislature should reject,” Ring wrote. Read more.
